Question: Is there a email marketing software that you don't have to pay monthly subscribtion fee for?

I am looking for an email marketing software which is an alternative to services such as Awaber, MailChimp, iContact, etc., all of which are monthly subscriptions. Is there a software which works for wordpress where you only pay one fee upfront?

If you are looking to pay one time, you can check out ActiveCampaign. They offer a downloadable version of their email marketing software or if you prefer a hosted version, they have that too, but you buy email credits.
